Who are we?
We are a group of concerned citizens interested in preserving and enhancing fish and wildlife in the Hyde Creek Watershed. We have had an average number of fifty volunteer members over our 15 years as a society. We are engaged in the greater community by participating in local activities and events to promote an understanding of our watershed and the flora and fauna within. Apart from our Salmon hatchery, we have successful Education Programs tailored for students from district schools as well as for ESL and various other groups and organizations .
Synergy is defined as the interaction of elements that when combined produce a total effect that is greater than the sum of the individual contributions. Our society is a part of that synergy in Port Coquitlam and Coquitlam which helps to make it a better, more livable community. Over time we have been involved with Rivers Day Celebrations, May Day Parades, Hikes for Hospice, Invasive plant removal work parties, Watershed cleanups, local Festivals, Open Houses and many more activities and events
