Interested in volunteering? Hyde Creek Watershed Society is offering a free workshop for those interested in participating in our Salmon Hatchery Tours. Come join us, learn more about how it works, and see if you might enjoy being a part of our tour group as a leader or a helper. Our schedules are flexible and you choose the hours and times that work for you. Sat. Sept 29th at 9:30am at the hatchery.

Volunteer with us! Volunteers pick the days and times they are available to help out with:

  1. Classes and tour training (as guide or assistant)

  2. Event planning (Open House and Salmon Festival)

  3. Day to day hatchery operations

NEXT MEETING:   Wednesday, November 7  7:15PM

Meetings are the 1st Wednesday of each month at the  Hyde Creek Education Centre & Hatchery, 
3636 Coast Meridian Road, Port Coquitlam.   Meetings are open to the public.
Come in to learn more, tour our facility and meet the members. 

We're open every Saturday morning 9:00 to 11:30.  Join us for an informal tour and check out our projects.

Hyde Creek Watershed Society Salmon Festival  

Celebrate and witness the return of thousands of salmon back to their birthplace to lay and fertilize their eggs on Sunday November 18th from 11am-3pm. Spawning time is the end of these Coho & Chum salmon’s lifespan and the beginning of the next generation.   This FREE family event provides visitors of all ages the opportunity to observe salmon up close and learn about their life cycle through educational displays, salmon dissections and in-stream demonstrations. Come out for a day of exploring, experiencing and learning about the salmon and wildlife in a fish-bearing watershed.   See our Festival Page under News & Events.
